Event Details

You’ll be enthralled as Rhythmaya demonstrates the many ties their dance and music have to water.

This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Montgomery County, Inc. This is a summertime program for children ages 3 and up and their families.

Space is limited; free tickets required, available at the Circulation desk 30 minutes before the event.

Indian dance and music have many ties to the water. The livelihood of fishermen in India is tied to water and impacts Rhythmaya’s folk dance moves, costumes and diet. Different bodies of water are a focal point of religious prayer sites, too, and this impacts classical Indian dance.

Due to the nature of this program, masks are required for participants ages 5 and up.
