Author and illustrator Susan Stockdale will read and discuss the creation of her books Fantastic Flowers and Stripes of All Types,and will lead an art activity in which children create flower images using oil pastels.

Stockdale has written and illustrated eight books featuring wildlife of all kinds for children ages 2-7.

This program is the second in a new series sponsored by Friends of the Library, Silver Spring, in partnership with MCPL. Four programs held throughout the academic year will feature authors who will read from their books and lead kids in an educational activity.
