Advocacy Toolkit

Fellow Library Lovers,

Elections are upon us and we will soon have a new County Executive and a much-changed County Council. One of the first questions these new people will have to address is the search for a new Director of our Libraries. I believe it is particularly important, as all of the campaigns proceed, that the contestants appreciate that libraries are important to many of us here in the county.

The simplest way to do this is to show up at some of the campaign events–and, show up in orange shirts or buttons. Ask the candidates what they plan to do about our libraries. In particular, ask them what they will be looking for in a new library director.

See you on the trail,
Tom Thomson, President, FOLMC
