FY 2018 Budget Update

Mr. Leggett has released his FY 2018 Operating Budget. He is recommending a 2.56% increase for the Department of Public Libraries over last year’s budget. You can read details here. The County Council will hold hearings on the budget in April and will vote on the final budget in May.

We are excited to be able to accept donations of used books to stock the book cart. Please drop off your donations in the yellow tub behind the used book cart by the elevators on the 3rd floor.

By giving a little of your time, you can make a big difference for our community. We need volunteers to help with

  • sorting donations for book cart sales
  • preparing mailings
  • staffing events
  • publicizing our events through your social media networks, neighborhood listservs, and other outlets
  • writing or photographing for our newsletter
  • translating event information into Spanish, Amharic, and other languages, as needed
  • serving on a committee or as an officer of our chapter
