Do you want to help libraries? FOLMC offers many opportunities to get involved, whether you want to volunteer, put together a book drive, or assist with a special event.
Our two used bookstores in Rockville and Wheaton rely on volunteers for many things including sorting, shelving, and customer service. If you are interested in volunteering at one of our bookstores please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The FOLMC administrative office (located above the Rockville Memorial Library) frequently needs volunteers to assist with light office work including filling and preparing mailings. We also need volunteers for our special events and programs to help with tasks such as setup and registration. If you are interested in volunteering in our office or for a special event please email email@example.com.
FOL Chapters are always looking for dedicated energetic individuals to join their all volunteer groups. Chapter volunteers may serve in many capacities such as Chapter Board Officers, book sale coordinators, and with membership recruitment. FOL Chapters support their specific branches. To find the chapter closest to you view our Chapter page and click on a chapter for more information on how to get involved.
FOLMC is looking for library-loving professionals to join our Board of Trustees. Terms begin in January of each year. Our board is a dedicated group of working and retired professionals who have a passion for Montgomery County Public Libraries. They provide guidance, leadership, oversight, and extra pairs of hands to our small staff on a wide variety of projects. Does this sound like you or someone you know? If you have skills in finance, fundraising, human resources, or marketing, or if you know someone who does, complete the online Board Nomination Application here.
FOLMC annually accepts applications for our Board of Trustees Student Representative. Visit our Student Representative page for more information.
