Germantown’s beautiful library opened on March 8, 2007, and continues to break county circulation records. If you have not taken time to visit yet, we encourage you to stop by soon. Pictures of the facility and directions to the library are on the MCPL website.

Friends of the Library, Germantown Chapter holds a monthly used book sale on the second Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the lower level meeting room.

Volunteers also maintain the book cart, a place for book-lovers to recycle their reading by donating and purchasing gently used books. To donate, hand your books to a staff member at the main circulation desk and indicate these are donations for Friends of the Library, Germantown Chapter.

Communication

You can learn all about our upcoming activities in a number of ways:

  • Check out the Friends of the Library table in the main lobby, across from the Circulation Desk on the Lower Level.
  • Bookmark this page and refer to it often.
  • Look for our quarterly newsletter or pick up a printed one at the library. Germantown Friends members receive their own copy of this newsletter as a benefit of membership. Have you joined or renewed? Click here to join.

Volunteers

  • Are you interested in a leadership opportunity in your community?
  • Would you like to work with a fun group of volunteers and librarians?
  • Do you have ideas to help our library be the best possible resource for our community?
  • Want to get involved or have questions?

Please contact us at Germantown@folmc.org or come to the next meeting and learn more.

We are actively recruiting volunteers to work at our monthly book sales as well as organize donated books. If you would be interested in spending a bit of your spare time helping the library, please email us and the book sale coordinator will contact you.
