We welcome your donations of used books!

We are excited to be able to accept donations of gently used books to stock the book cart. Please drop off your donations in the yellow tub behind the used book cart by the elevators on the 3rd floor.

We are not able to accept magazines or textbooks. Thank you.

We invite you to join Friends of the Library, Silver Spring. Your membership dues and contributions allow us to augment public funding for programs, materials, and equipment at Silver Spring Library.

By giving a little of your time, you can make a big difference for our community. We need volunteers to help with

  • sorting donations for book cart sales
  • preparing mailings
  • staffing events
  • publicizing our events through your social media networks, neighborhood listservs, and other outlets
  • writing or photographing for our newsletter
  • translating event information into Spanish, Amharic, and other languages, as needed
  • serving on a committee or as an officer of our chapter
