Afternoon Library Meetings Were Held
On Saturday

1:00-2:30 – Friends of the Aspen Hill Library  Annual Meeting
2:30-3:00 – Refreshments
3:00-4:30 – Aspen Hill Library Advisory Committee  Meeting
This was the time to find out what’s happening with our Library and speak out about Library matters!

The Aspen Hill Chapter of the Friends of the Library has been able to do many things for our library. Most recently as part of the refresh, we financed a new kitchen for the library staff area. We sponsor the Jazz Festival held at the library. We also assist the award-winning Aspen Hill Garden Club with the cost of the library landscaping. We recently started an author series, and have resumed publication of an interesting and fact-filled newsletter.

We provide funding for the library that supplements the County’s budget. Throughout the years, we have purchased computers, chairs, and bookcases when necessary. We have placed “plates” on various items showing they were bought by the Aspen Hill Chapter of the Friends of the Library. You can see just where your money goes!

Our funds support the children’s Summer Reading Program, “Born to Read” and Homework Helps, Aspen Hill’s after-school program. We also help with the special summer programs for children. All these important programs are well-attended, and all this is possible because of member support. Using membership dues and donations, plus the semi-annual Book Sales, we make an investment in the future of our community and our readers of all ages.

We welcome new members. Please contact us at
