Read, Eat & Give 2009

Think only wine can be paired with food for that sophisticated flair?

Think again!

Dogfish Head AlehouseThank you to everyone who joined Friends of the Library for Read, Eat, & Give 2009! On October 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the VisArts building, FOLMC brought together several amazing local brewers and restaurants for a night of discovering how to pair foods with the complex flavors of beer. Guests sampled craft beers from some of the top area microbrewers and alehouses while enjoying foods from around the world. VisArts LogoVisArts is just around the corner from the Rockville Library at 155 Gibbs Street.

Dogfish Head Alehouse, Flying Dog Brewery, Gordon Biersch, and Hook & Ladder Brewing Company shared some of their best brews.  There was no Miller or Bud to be found, only unique, full-flavored, mouthwatering brews to tantalize and entice the palate.

Brews Brothers Arnold Meltzer and Steven FrankRepresentatives from the breweries and alehouse were on hand to answer questions about the brewing process, the flavor profiles, and how to pair beers with foods successfully. You can ask anything you want, and the brewers or our emcees and honorary chairs, acclaimed beer journalists Steven Frank and Arnold Meltzer, better known as the Brews Brothers, will be able to answer your queries, or at least send you in the right direction.
