New and gently used children’s books and adult mysteries will be featured at the special summer sale to be held at the Wheaton Bookstore, operated by Friends of the Library, Montgomery County on Saturday, June 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the lower atrium of the Wheaton Library located at 11701 Georgia Ave.
The seasonal sale will also feature interesting coffee table books on a variety of subjects including art and history.
All proceeds benefit Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL), with funds going toward library enhancements not covered by the County budget, such as educational and cultural programs, new technology, staff and volunteer appreciation, and librarian scholarships.
Friends of the Library, Montgomery County is a private not-for-profit membership organization that raises funds and awareness for MCPL. The group is comprised of 16 chapters that support their individual branches through a variety of outreach and advocacy efforts.
Donations of books may be dropped off when the library is open — Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the Wheaton Bookstore which is open during library operating hours, FOLMC operates two other used bookstores in Gaithersburg and Rockville.
