A native of Washington D.C., Aileen started her career in the early 1970s in the inner-city D.C. Public School system as part of the Urban Teachers Corps. After starting her own family, she joined the IBM Corporation where she worked in the Federal division for 27 years before retiring. She received her BA in Sociology from the University of Maryland and her MA in Elementary Childhood Education from Catholic University.
As an active volunteer throughout the county, Aileen is very excited about her role as Chapter Relations Coordinator for FOLMC. She is key to building strong relationships throughout FOL, and she has been a cornerstone of our outreach efforts in the community. She has always been a supporter of local activities, as evident in her roles as a founding member of Rockville’s Bicycle Advisory Committee, former co-chair and current member of the Town Center Action Team, and her service on the Rose Hill Falls Homeowners Association Board. For the past several years, she has served as vice president of the Rockville Chapter of FOL. In this role, she headed and executed a very successful fundraising gala for the new Rockville Library in November 2006! She has been a resource to FOLMC’s chapters already, and will continue to be an asset in her role as Chapter Relations Coordinator in the upcoming years.
