Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. They contribute thousands of hours of service each year as Board members, Chapter representatives, bookstore and office assistants, and special project coordinators.

Bookstore assistant – sort, shelve, organize and price books; assist customer and donors; help maintain pleasant bookstore environment.

Board member – share you time and expertise on the Board of Trustees. Serve on one of many committees to help fundraise, advocate or plan programs. Members can serve two three-year terms. Attendance at quarterly Board meetings and commitment to supporting libraries are mandatory. A non-voting 10th grade student member is selected every two years. Chapter volunteer – support your local library by serving on the Chapter Board, organizing a book sale, planning activities, beautifying the grounds, advocating for your library and much more!

Literary Salon facilitator – convene monthly sessions for writers to share their works and discuss literary topics, maintain membership list and help recruit members.

Office assistant – support the administrative staff behind the scenes by designing newsletters and flyers, coordinating literary program, mass mailings and membership processing to name a few.
